USS SIRIUS - SHIP FEATURES

Primary Cargo Bay

The USS Sirius has three cargo bays, utilised for storing bulk cargo, such as medical supplies and replacement parts for the ship. The primary cargo bay occupies the lower decks of the primary hull, on deck eight to eleven. As all cargo is transported into the bay, only one turboshaft allows access. All other routes of access to the cargo bay are through jefferies tube.

The main level of the cargo storage complex occupies decks ten and eleven, the deck between the two was specifically removed during refit, to allowing greater storage capacity. The cargo deck as it is often referred too. Features alcove storage space for thirty-eight cargo modules, additional modules are stored on deck eight and nine. More near the centre of the main storage area is a tandem cargo transporter facility. With lower resolution, these units are primarily designed for operation at the molecular (non lifeform) level and are for cargo use only. If necassery they can be set for quantum (lifeform) resolution transport if desired. However this would mean a significant reduction in payload mass capacity.

Secondary Cargo Bays

Located on deck four are the ships two smaller cargo bays, used for storing smaller material, such as ships hardware, foodstuffs, and portable liquids. All cargo containers within these bays, are equipped with built-in antigravs, those that are not can be moved, using an antigrav lifter. All cargo is arranged according to type, if the material is hazardous. Specific proximity-caution protocols must be followed, to prevent unwanted interactions. Both bays are equipped with standard cargo transporter pads.
